Multimek Baltic opens €2.2M production facility in Kehra

Multimek has completed a €2.2M office and production facility in Kehra, supporting growth, a new own product and more efficient metalworking.

Estonian metalworking company Multimek Baltic has completed a new office and production building in Kehra after a €2.2M investment, giving the company additional space for its growth plans and the introduction of its own product.

The building was officially opened on September 23, writes Tööstusuudised. The investment is accompanied by a resource and energy-efficiency project, the company said.

Building local production

The 1,800-square-meter facility is located at Anija mnt 17 in Kehra, next to Multimek Baltic’s existing production building. It combines office and manufacturing space, allowing the company to expand its operations while maintaining its production base in the town.

“The additional production building will enable us to increase production capacity and expand our service portfolio. We will also create more modern working conditions for employees and improve the plant’s environmental efficiency. The completion of the new building will bring new jobs to Kehra and strengthen the plant’s role in the region’s economy,” said Rinno Saviir, head of Multimek’s Estonian factory.

Backing a more efficient factory

Multimek Baltic was established in 2012 and operates in the machinery and metalworking sector. Its main activity is the production of metal products. The company is wholly owned by Finnish parent company Multimek Oy.

Multimek Baltic generated €16.58M in revenue in 2025, up from €14.75M a year earlier, and employed 69 people at the end of 2025.

The efficiency project supported through NextGenerationEU includes the planned purchase of a fiber laser cutting machine. Multimek Baltic says the equipment will reduce greenhouse-gas emissions per unit of output and improve resource use by at least 2%. The project is also intended to reduce the consumption of raw materials and other resources without increasing energy use per unit of output.

The same project includes an electric forklift, which is intended to reduce the company’s dependence on fossil fuels and improve supply security. Together with the completed Kehra facility, the equipment investments place production capacity, resource efficiency and product development at the centre of Multimek Baltic’s next phase of growth in Estonia.
