Cleveron’s parcel lockers are an addition to the Migros PickMup locker network that the company plans to expand even further. Customers can order from Migros online store or other Swiss online stores and have their goods delivered to a parcel locker located in a Migros supermarket located all over Switzerland. The customer can order and pick up their parcel conveniently and for free.
Cleveron’s COO Arti Kütt said that cooperation with Migros marks an important milestone for Cleveron – it is a significant step in expanding its activities in the DACH market. “And as for a step, it is quite remarkable! Migros is one of the leading players in the region and known for its high quality and values. We are certain that this first step is the beginning of a strong long-term partnership.”
Matthias Wälchli, Responsible for Click & Collect solutions at Federation of Migros Cooperatives, said that with Cleveron the company has chosen one of the world-leading partners with whom to grow together. “Cleveron understands our needs and provides smart and innovative solutions. We now have achieved an important milestone and have equipped a substantial number of our pickup stations with lockers, more to come.”
The extraordinary growth in e-commerce parcel volumes brought by the COVID-19 pandemic has created a strong need for automated parcel solutions. Due to high demand, Cleveron has expanded its product portfolio to meet the market’s growing needs. In addition to indoor lockers and parcel robots, which ensure efficiency for high parcel volumes, Cleveron released an outdoor parcel locker Cleveron 352 in October. Successful retailers are looking to automate their online order handover, and their own parcel locker network helps to create an efficient click & collect system.
Migros is the largest retail company in Switzerland. It is organised as a federation of cooperatives with nearly 2.3 million cooperative members. The core is made up of ten regional cooperatives, which together form the Federation of Migros Cooperatives.
Cleveron is the leading innovator in parcel handover automation, creating parcel lockers and robots for the world’s biggest retailers like Zara, H&M and Decathlon. Today, Cleveron’s solutions can be found in 34 countries around the globe. The Estonian company has an extensive partner network, strengthening sales, installation and maintenance activities. Migros cooperation was established together with the local Swiss company MAS Consulting GmbH.
In addition to parcel solutions, the Cleveron Mobility team is developing a semi-autonomous robot courier Cleveron 701. Estonian climate with its four seasons is a perfect testing ground for technology and gives the company a unique opportunity to collect valuable data from diverse weather conditions and traffic situations. Extensive trialling in adverse weather conditions helps the engineers to learn, adapt, and overcome any nuances that might occur from both software and hardware standpoints. Additionally, it guarantees that the Cleveron robot couriers remain reliable and safe all year round.
