As this year’s programme of Latitude59 contained a live stream from Stockholm where the topic of driving transformation was discussed, Anna Öberg, Invest Estonia’s Director of Business Development in Sweden had a quick chat with Ebba Lilliehöök, Investment Manager at Telia Ventures.
“Being responsible for the Baltic region in Telia Ventures, I meet a lot of startups originating from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania,” Lilliehöök said. “What describes the Estonian attitude is that the people I meet are often very digitally driven. They are highly educated, so you feel very quickly that it’s kind of encouraged by the society to educate.”
“But at the same time it is okay to actually enter a very young company or build something yourself,” she added. “So, I think most of them are highly educated, digitally driven and ambitious to enter the startup space.”
Telia Ventures is the venture capital arm of Swedish multinational telecommunications company Telia. Telia Ventures invest in consumer and enterprise markets with a focus on cloud, mobile and security and look for companies with big ambitions and the capability to become leaders in their segments. They have set their geographical focus in Northern Europe.
