Enterprise Estonia opened an office in Dubai, started advising UAE investors

"Opening an office in Dubai is certainly good news for our enterpreneurs and an important step to make the economic ties with the Persian Gulf region stronger," said Prime Minister Jüri Ratas before the opening ceremony.

The Minister of Enterpreneurship Rene Tammist added: “We need to make Estonia more visible in the Middle East in order to open new export possibilities for the Estonian companies and in addition, being present is important as the whole Persian Gulf region is becoming more and more important as a tourism destination.”

FDI and Export Manager Jukka Hahlanterä started work at the UAE office, helping Estonia’s entrepreneurs to enter the UAE market and investors from the UAE to invest in Estonia.

There are more than 50 Estonian companies currently active in the region and clear interest in cooperation can be seen in the fields of IT, defense, food, textile, furniture, logistics, etc.

In the summer, Estonia will open its embassy in Abu Dhabi. According to Prime Minister Ratas there are also ongoing negotiations to open a direct flight between Estonia and the UAE.
