Past event: Estonia – naturally innovative. Webinar for Japan

On April 14th, naturally innovative Estonia will introduce its cooperation possibilities to Japanese entrepreneurs at a webinar, focusing on e-Residency, trade, investments and tourism. Opening speeches will be held by Japan's Minister for Digital Transformation, Takuya Hirai and Estonia's Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology, Andres Sutt.

Japan’s Minister for Digital Transformation Takuya Hirai hopes that this webinar will be an opportunity to learn more about Estonia. “Ten years can make a lot of changes, now Estonia has become widely known in Japan, but there are many things still we don’t know,” Hirai says.

Named ‘the most advanced digital society in the world’ by Wired, Estonia encourages to use digital solutions to continue building the trust and business relations between the countries that already have many shared values in terms of untouched nature, digital innovation and honesty-based business culture. As proof of this, several Japanese companies have made significant investments in Estonia, to name some recent one’s – Marubeni Corporations’s investment in Skeleton, Mistletoe’s investment in Funderbeam, Rakuten’s investment in Lingvist. Furthermore, a number of promising cooperation agreements have recently been concluded between Japanese and Estonian companies: Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank and Cybernetica, Itochu Corporation and Cleveron, Shionogi and Helmes.
