Head of Investment Agency: Estonia’s advantages are skills, infrastructure and position

The head of Estonian Investment Agency Allan Selirand said that Estonia is aiming at investors who need skilled people, good infrastructure or can use the advantage of Estonia’s geographical position.

Telling Estonia’s National Broadcasting (ERR) about Estonia’s recent success stories he pointed out a 55 million euro investment by Metsä Wood to build a birch plywood plant in Pärnu. Selirand said that he is glad that the investment was made to an area outside of Tallinn and that in order to prepare for it, good cooperation with Pärnu’s institutions of vocational education was established.

According to Selirand many of Estonia’s advantages are to do with our image as an ICT pioneer, the small size and flexibility of the country – plus the stability of our legal environment.
