Estonia is known as a country of digital innovation and active entrepreneurship. X-Road, e-Government, e-Residency – the list of successful digital innovations of Estonia is far from being locked. As a small and IT-savvy country, this makes it easy to test and implement new technologies in Estonia.
Being the most entrepreneurial country in Europe, there are an estimated of 650 startups in Estonia ready to invent, test all new technologies and conquer the world with them, following the four Estonian unicorns: Skype, Playtech, TransferWise and Bolt.
Last year, Estonian startups raised over 250 million euros in investments, gave work to more than 5,000 people and paid over 60 million euros in labor taxes to the state, The Baltic Course writes.
