The third annual Start-Up Regatta is set to take place on the 2nd and 3rd of August in Tallinn, Estonia, offering a unique fusion of the sport of sailing and the vibrant startup community.
Supported by Invest Estonia, this year’s Regatta promises to welcome up to 70 investors and startups. And it’s not only about sailing, as educational sessions on folk boats, networking opportunities, and a showcase of Estonia’s thriving startup ecosystem are lined up.
There’s clearly a lot to show besides the beautiful waves of the Baltic Sea. Estonia’s ecosystem is the most vibrant in Europe, with 865 startups and 7,7 unicorns per 1 million people. In 2022, Estonian startups raised a staggering €1.33 billion, marking a remarkable 35% increase from the previous year.
Among the success stories are renowned startups like Klaus, Veriff, CoModule, Skeleton, and many more, some of which have participated in previous editions of the Startup Regatta.
Networking like no other
The Start-Up Regatta invites those eager to explore new experiences, embodying the phrase, “You can’t control the wind, but you can adjust the sails”. Each captain of the yacht is able to manage it without any help, but the hope is that you will be able to take the “wheel” and try out what it’s like to be a captan, as explained by organizers.
The event caters to two main groups:
- Startups: local companies from Estonia and neighbouring countries who are actively seeking funding or contemplating raising capital. This event is an excellent platform to connect with potential investors. The registration fee for two participants is set at €500.
- Investors: investors from various regions, including the Nordics, CEE, Southern Europe, and beyond. The registration fee for investors ranges from €800 per person to €1500 for three people, depending on the package chosen.
