Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas met with startups today to discuss possibilities how the state and startups can cooperate to bring bright people to Estonia and create high-value jobs.
“Estonia is number one in Europe in the number of startups per capita. We believe that success will create new success and that we have potential for more,” Rõivas said.
Prime Minister and the startups met at a roundtable where startup taxation questions and the possibility of implementing a startup visa / living permit for foreign startup talents were discussed. As a result of the meeting the taxation questions will be further looked into by the Ministry of Finance and the living permit / startup visa questions by the Ministry of the Interior.
“We wish to motivate entrepreneurial talents to work in Estonia, so that today’s startups would grow into multinational companies,” the Prime Minister said.
