Pactum AI, an Estonian startup focusing on autonomous negotiation technology, has been named the winner of DIGITALEUROPE’s prestigious Future Unicorn Award for 2025. The company was recognised at DIGITALEUROPE’s Masters of Digital conference in Brussels for its innovative AI platform that automates complex business negotiations.
“This award demonstrates the value of agentic AI, and Pactum, for procurement and supply chains. Your innovation is driving Europe forward. We need more future unicorns like you,” said the organisers, giving out the award to CEO Kaspar Korjus, co-founder and ex-CEO of Estonia’s e-Residency programme.
Founded in 2019, Pactum has developed an AI-powered system that enables large enterprises to conduct thousands of negotiations with suppliers simultaneously. Its technology has been adopted by several Fortune 500 companies, including logistics giant Maersk, significantly impacting enterprise procurement processes. According to the company, managed spend through Pactum was up 489% in 2024 compared to the previous year.
The award comes after Pactum’s successful $20 million Series B funding round in July 2024, which brought its total investment to $55 million.
Cecilia Bonefeld-Dahl, DIGITALEUROPE’s Director General, highlighted the significance of Pactum’s achievement, noting that the company exemplifies Europe’s potential to lead in the global tech race, particularly in the AI sector. “Today, only 14% of the world’s unicorns are from Europe. This is far from enough, especially at a time when Europe seeks to boost its economic and security resilience in an increasingly tense geopolitical context,” she stressed.
The Future Unicorn Award, conducted in collaboration with 41 National Trade Associations across Europe, recognises promising European tech companies in their scale-up phase that show potential to become future unicorns. Estonia has been Europe’s premier unicorn factory, delivering over 10 billion-dollar startups across various sectors.
