Kuressaare Regional Training Centre is an educational institute, located in Kuressaare, that provides initial and additional vocational training and retraining in wide area of specialties both for young people and adults. KRTC is one of the vocational schools teaching design in Estonia. Curricula’s specialise on fashion styling, graphic design, videography and interaction design. Design curricula brings to study many young and adult learners from all over Estonia.
Located on the island of Saaremaa, an island with strong seamanship traditions and small craft building companies, KRTC is the only vocational school in Estonia training boat builders. KRTC is a partner at the Small Craft Competence Centre at Saaremaa, hosting the SCC’s technology lab that provides various services to small craft sector.
Other specialities are car repairing, business management, social work, information technology, accounting, spa therapy.
There are ca 800 regular students on upper and post-secondary level, and ca 800 adult students during a year on different adult training courses. There are 130 staff members (incl 70 teachers)
To serve better the needs of the regional economy, RTC has strong ties with many local companies and Saaremaa labour market office.
The school is open for cooperation. They have suitable infrastructure, staff and ability to give out certificates. Time frame: shortest amount of time for preparing a new course (not a degree course) is 5 months. For a degree course, it takes up to a year for preparations and implementation. Minimum amount of students for a course: 8.
During the last 30 years Kuressaare Regional Training Centre has participated in ca 80 international projects; sent to work placement ca 1,000 students and on study visits or work placement ca 250 teachers and other staff members. The center is an active partner in Erasmus+ KA2 and other co-operation programs.
