Three Estonian founders featured in the Forbes 30 under 30 list

Forbes has published its 30 under 30 list for Europe, featuring three Estonian founders - Kaarel Kotkas, Robin Saluoks and Madis Lehtmets - making waves in technology, finance and manufacturing.

Forbes recently published the highly-anticipated European edition of its annual 30 Under 30 list for 2023. Among the honorees are three Estonian founders who have already significantly impacted the startup scene in their home country and abroad. Kaarel Kotkas (founder & CEO at Veriff), Robin Saluoks (CEO of eAgronom) and Madis Lehtmets (co-founder of Remato) were all chosen for this prestigious list.

Kaarel Kotkas

Kotkas, 28, is the founder and CEO of Veriff, one of Estonia’s most recent unicorn successes. A SaaS-based identity verification platform, it has raised nearly $200 million to date and is valued at over $1.5 billion following its last round. The company’s services have applications across various sectors, including fintech, crypto, healthcare, and the metaverse, and are used to verify government ID cards or documents. He was featured in the Technology section of the award, which gathers individuals powering the digital revolution.

Robin Saluoks

Saluoks, 27, is the CEO and founder of eAgronom, an Estonia-based AgriTech startup that provides farmers with an innovative solution to benefit from the global green transition. Coming from a family of farmers in Tartu County, Saluoks built a platform that allows landowners to manage their carbon footprint, leveraging cutting-edge technology to earn, trade, and exchange valuable carbon credits.

Through the use of a specially designed digital token, eAgronom has brought much-needed transparency and liquidity to the carbon markets, enabling farmers to not only reduce their environmental impact but also earn extra revenue through the sale of carbon credits. It has also raised an impressive $12 million in funding.

Madis Lehtmets

Lehtmets, 28, featured in the Forbes’ Manufacturing and Industry section, is a co-founder and former CEO of Remato. Since January 2023, he has moved to the Executive Advisor position. As described by Lehmets, he has handed over the company’s leadership and keeps rooting for the team from a more passive role.

Remato is a SaaS work management system designed specifically for the construction industry. With its advanced digital connectivity, Remato allows field crews to stay in touch with construction offices, providing a host of valuable features such as GPS and geofencing-based attendance verification, photo capture, progress tracking, and more, all from a single, easy-to-use app.

Remato is trusted by over 350 paying companies across the globe, including Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Canada. The company has raised over $2 million in funding to date.
