Bolt raises €60 million in funding

Estonia’s unicorn Bolt, the ridesharing and scooter sharing company raises €60 million in funding to support recent launch in London and further expansion plans.

According to TechCrunch, the Series C round of funding was led by G Squared, Creandum, Nordic Ninja, Superangel and Naya Capital. The equity injection bumps up the valuation of the company to €1 billion, money that Bolt plans to use to fuel its international growth.

Bolt, formerly known as Taxify, launched in London in June, operating across the biggest cities in Europe and Africa. The service currently covers 25 million users in 30 countries and 100 cities.

Karl Aru, Expansion Manager at Bolt suggest other businesses to consider using Estonia as an expansion base to start conquering the universe – just like Bolt is conquering the world from Estonia.
