In Estonia, wind means business—and there’s certainly no shortage of it. To leverage this abundant resource, Estonia is stepping up its presence at WindEurope 2025 — the region’s biggest event which takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark — highlighting its strengths in offshore wind energy and innovation.
Estonia’s competitive advantages include excellent wind conditions, extensive maritime space with shallow, suitable seabed conditions for offshore installations, and strong governmental support facilitating streamlined permitting processes and infrastructure investments.
Estonia recently announced new offshore wind area auctions scheduled for 2026, alongside an exclusive 80 sq. km special purpose innovation area designated specifically for testing next-generation technologies, including floating wind turbines, smart robotics, sensors, and other advanced offshore solutions. Investors can also take advantage of a pro-business environment, including 0% corporate income tax on reinvested profits and large-scale investment grants offering up to €20 million per project. The Estonian stand (A-D10) invites attendees for a networking Happy Hour on April 9 at 13:00, offering an opportunity to connect with Estonian leaders in renewable energy. Led by the Invest Estonia team and Kärt Klein, Deputy Head of Global Business Development, it’s a perfect platform to explore Estonia’s innovative ecosystem, meet industry experts, and discuss potential collaboration opportunities.
Companies and organisations represented at the Estonian stand include ELWIND Offshore, Marketex Offshore Constructions, Port of Tallinn, and the Estonian Wind Power Association.
In addition to the stand presence, Estonian experts will speak in prominent panels throughout the conference. Here’s a sneak peek:
- Terje Talv from the Estonian Wind Power Association and Anu Eslas from Ignitis will contribute insights on the Baltic market panel.
- Anu Eslas will speak in the Cyber Defence in Energy Security panel, highlighting Estonia’s expertise in securing vital energy infrastructure.
- Kristiina Nauts, Head of Wind Developments at Utilitas Wind, will present the Saare-Liivi offshore wind farm case at the “Enhancing social and environmental outcomes: stakeholder strategies and data collaboration” session. Set to install 80 turbines by 2028, the project will deliver 1,200 MW of power, create jobs, enhance local infrastructure, and significantly boost the local economy through Estonia’s transformative “wind turbine fee.”
And this is hardly the full list of Estonian attendees and visitors, as representatives from ABB AS, Enefit Green, ESTEVE AS, Kaamos Energy, Evecon and many other sectoral players are expected.
If you are attending WindEurope 2025, don’t miss the opportunity to connect with Estonia’s dynamic offshore wind community and discover how Estonia is powering the next wave of renewable innovations.
