Estonian Investment Agency (Invest Estonia) in cooperation with Startup Estonia presents top Estonian startups, resolving and growing in crisis and looking for an investment €250K or more on the first ever Online Startup Demo Day on May 14th.
The most exclusive Estonian startups, hand-picked by Invest Estonia, Startup Estonia, EstBan and Estonian VCs, are pitching their ideas on May 14th. As a potential investor who has registered for the event, you will also have an opportunity to e-meet and e-communicate with the founders of the Estonia’s top startups, pick your next unicorn to invest in and turn the crisis into profit.
So far, Estonia has produced four unicorns: Skype, Playtech, Transferwise, and Bolt. A dozen home-grown startups are valued over $ 100M each.
The Estonian startup community is as vibrant as ever. Last year (in 2019) € 266.4M was invested into Estonian startups and even though the total investment amount in 2019 is smaller than in 2018 (€ 330M), we see the total number of deals increasing significantly. There were 73 new investment deals in 2019, which is almost double compared to 2018 (40). Also, 30 deals in 2019 were at least € 1M or more, compared to 20 in 2018.
Estonian startups have raised a total of nearly € 1B in the last 10 years. Since 2010 the proportion of investments raised from abroad to Estonian startups have been growing year-by-year, reaching 92% in 2019. The increased interest of foreign investors confirms that Estonian startups are being noticed globally, we have a strong startup ecosystem and a credible transparent business environment.
