According to EU-Startups, Estonia’s Bilt.me, a Tallinn-based AI-native mobile app builder that lets users create native Android and iOS apps from plain-language prompts, has raised €615k ($700k) in pre-Seed funding. The round was led by Superhero Capital, a seed-stage investor backing software-driven startups across Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
The financing also includes backing from Markus Villig, founder and CEO of Estonian mobility company Bolt, and Martin Sokk, co-founder and CEO of European investment platform Lightyear.
“We should be honest with ourselves. Europe is behind on energy, behind on chips, behind on AI infrastructure, behind on the frontier models – those races may already be decided elsewhere. But there’s one layer where Europe is still world-class: the application layer, turning AI into things real people use and pay for,” said Uku Joost Annus, co-founder and CEO of Bilt.me. “Probably the most exciting thing to come out of Estonia lately,” wrote Sokk about the investment.
How bilt.me turns ideas into native apps
Bilt.me was founded in August 2025 by Annus, Kevin Akkermann and Karl Kiilaspää. The company began as a hackathon project addressing Apple’s app-testing restrictions. Its founders won the inaugural cohort of ruum, a hacker space in Tallinn’s Krulli Quarter, and the company now has six engineers.
Users describe an app idea in plain language, after which Bilt.me’s AI agent builds the product, previews it on a phone and helps publish it to the App Store or Google Play. The company differentiates itself from AI app builders focused on web applications by supporting native Android and iOS development without requiring users to write code.
“There are more than a billion websites but only a few million apps: apps are harder to build, so fewer people make them, and that gap is exactly where bilt.me sees its opportunity to empower everyone to become an entrepreneur,” Annus said.
The platform includes supporting infrastructure for native app development. Bilt Payments handles payments, Bilt Cloud provides cloud services, and Bilt Link supports sharing. Users can export the React Native code behind their apps. Bilt.me offers a free tier, paid plans starting at €13 per month and an enterprise package with SSO, SCIM and zero data retention.
Using funding to expand the platform
Bilt.me says it has passed six figures in annual recurring revenue, with revenue doubling month over month for three consecutive months. Thousands of people are building on the platform, with approximately 75% of projects being consumer apps and 25% private or in-house tools. Users have already published paid apps on both major app stores.
“When I was 19, building an app was one of the biggest barriers to turning my idea into a company. Bilt.me is removing that barrier for the next generation of entrepreneurs. If anyone with an idea can build and launch a real product, we unlock far more people to start companies, solve problems, and create something valuable,” Villig said. In the long term, the company aims to become a platform through which anyone can become an entrepreneur by building and launching mobile apps.
