Invest Estonia’s short webinar at Hannover Messe focused on the future of smart industrial hubs and sustainable value chains in Estonia (watch the recording in English with the German subtitles below).
HHLA TK Estonia CCO, Member of the Management Board, Andres Uusoja stated that Estonia is known to be a very transparent, digital and cost and time-efficient country. The next major focuses for HHLA TK Estonia will be digitalisation, alternative energy and multimodality.
Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology, Andres Sutt said that Estonia has long experience as a digital country. “Our 25 years of experience in building the digital country and solving problems through smart solutions has made Estonian a leading digital nation in the world. Doing things digitally has become our DNA in Estonia,” he added.
Estonian Investment Agency’s Director of Business Development in Germany, Riina Leminsky showcased during her presentation “The future of smart industrial hubs and sustainable value chains” that Estonia is a good example of how smart industrial hubs work and how technology can be applied to solve industrial and logistic challenges. Leminsky also introduced the current successes and plans for the smart logistics hubs, such as: Port of Tallinn which aims to become the most innovative port on the shores of the Baltic Sea and Rail Baltica which is a greenfield rail transport infrastructure project with a goal to integrate the Baltic States to the European rail network. Another future initiative shown was the Helsinki-Tallinn Tunnel – a proposed undersea train tunnel, connecting Finnish and Estonian capitals.
