With a lot of AI and a sustainability focus, these 10 Estonian startups are winning the spotlight of EU Startups this year.

​Estonia has earned a reputation as a modern, digitally driven nation and is rapidly becoming a hub for the next generation of entrepreneurs. EU-startups have curated an annual list of 10 promising Estonian startups, all founded between 2022 and today, that are pushing boundaries across various sectors, from technology to sustainability.

  • ÄIO: Founded in 2022, this startup develops sustainable, next-generation fats and oils using precision fermentation. Their innovative solutions aim to replace palm oil, coconut oil, and animal fats, catering to food, cosmetics, and industrial applications. Headquartered in Tallinn, the startup has successfully raised €8.7M in funding.
  • Arbonics: Based in Tallinn, Arbonics is developing a cutting-edge carbon and ecosystem platform tailored for forest and landowners across Europe. The platform leverages advanced technology to support sustainable forest management by providing tools for tracking carbon emissions, monitoring ecosystem health, and optimising land use. Launched in 2022, Arbonics has secured €7.3M in funding.
  • Better Medicine: Based in Tartu, this startup develops advanced software solutions for cancer research and treatment. Launched in 2022, the platform accelerates the processing of clinical data, enabling medical professionals to make faster and more accurate decisions for cancer treatment. Better Medicine has raised €2.5M in funding to support its mission.
  • CARÁ Health: Launched in 2022 in Tallinn, CARÁ Health has developed a hybrid health and well-being platform designed specifically for women throughout maternity. It offers personalised services and resources, empowering them to make informed decisions during this crucial period. The startup has successfully closed a funding round of €750k.
  • Cino: Tallinn-based Cino builds a mobile app to simplify group payments. The app enables users to split bills in real-time effortlessly, making it ideal for group activities such as dining out, travelling, or managing shared household expenses. Founded in 2022, it has €3M in venture funding.

 

  • Elmo: Founded in 2022 in Tallinn, this startup has developed a state-of-the-art tool for the vehicle rental and service industry. It enables the seamless delivery of vehicles directly to customers or the relocation of vehicles to specific locations as needed. This vision has secured €2.6M in funding.
  • Flowstep: Founded in 2023 and based in Tallinn, Flowstep offers an AI-powered platform for design workflows. Acting as a “copilot” for designers, the platform streamlines and automates tasks, making the design process faster and more efficient. It has got €1.7M in recent funding to date.
  • MarkeDroid: Based in Tallinn, MarkeDroid is disrupting the renewable energy industry with its innovative platform. As Europe’s first “Plug & Play” solution for managing residential solar batteries, the platform enables users to optimise energy spot prices and access FLEX markets. Launched in 2023, it has raised €620K.
  • Salesforge: Founded in 2023 in Tallinn, Salesforge has raised €485k to develop its all-in-one sales execution super app. The platform is designed to help sales teams increase conversion rates by automating essential sales activities such as email outreach, enabling the personalisation of cold emails at scale.
  • Salu Health: Founded in 2022 and based in Tallinn, Salu Health has raised €1M to deliver a digital health solution tailored for expats worldwide. The platform provides a personalised doctor service powered by AI, enabling users to access medical care anytime, anywhere.
